Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation Review

So many people have been hyping up the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define foundation! I wanted to try to get my hands on it but I was a little afraid of purchasing online and getting the wrong shade. But I was in the States in December and I was able to swatch all of the shades and pick up the perfect one for me at Ulta!

As for the colour range I did find there to be quite the selection! I’m a little surprised with the colour that worked for me. I picked out the shade L4. I’m usually around the 2nd shade in a foundation collection so there was quite a few options when it came to the light end of the shade range.

A lot of people have very polarizing opinions of the applicator. It’s basically the exact same applicator as the shape tape concealer. I don’t really mind this applicator since I usually have a clean base when I apply foundation on to my face. This also makes things easy because I don’t have to clean up all the excess foundation I have on my hand when I apply foundation with a pump. With this type of applicator I also get to ensure that I put the exact amount of foundation on to my face and I avoid any waste!

The foundation dries down very, very quickly. I basically have a split second to easily blend everything in when I first apply it. I’ve used both a beauty blender and a brush to apply the foundation. I think the brush works the best for me because it really buffs the foundation into the skin. Since the foundation dries down quickly the brush helps to make sure that everything gets blended out as quickly and evenly as possible.

The finish of the foundation is very natural and almost skin like. I didn’t find it to be overly matte or very dewy. It just looked exactly like my skin but everything looked more even with my skin tone. I would say this is a medium coverage that’s fairly buildable. Even though this is marketed as a full coverage foundation I didn’t find it to give me that coverage most of the time.

I found the foundation to be very long wearing! It even held up pretty well when I was wearing it and took an unplanned nap. By the end of the day though it does look and feel a little dewy depending on what primer I wear with it.

I’m really happy that I managed to get this foundation and test it out. It’s going to be the perfect foundation for me to wear on a regular basis. It’s such an easy to wear foundation and I’ll get a lot of use out of it going forward!

Have you managed to try out this foundation? What were your thoughts? Did it work well for you? I would love to know in the comments below!
