October 2018 Favourites

October was such a busy month for me. I was busy on most of the weekends so I had to be creative with all of my makeup testing! I’ve also spent a lot of time trying to get my content planned for November because I’m going to try to participate in NaBloPoMo – National Blog Post Month. Which means that if I’m successful you should see a blog post a day from me for the month of November!

This meant that I’ve spent a lot of time throughout October testing tons of different beauty products! But I managed to pick more skincare and haircare products than makeup favourites. The products that I included in my favourites were things that I used on a regular basis rather than products that I was using in attempts to review them!

Neutrogena – Hydro Boost Multivitamin Booster

The weather in October has been so up and down – one day you could wear shorts and the following day you need a hat and a scarf with a heavy parka! So as a result my skin has been all over the place. But thankful I was gifted the Hydro Booster at the Chickadvisor Showcase and it’s become a life saver. When my skin feels dry it ends up being so painful and itchy and I just can’t handle it. This has been such a help to keep the dryness under control. I love mixing it into my nighttime moisturizer to give it an extra boost of hydration. I totally recommend this for the cold winter months because it’s such an awesome and affordable product!

Fresh – Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy

I’ve been testing and swatching so many lipsticks throughout the month of October that my lips are permanently unhappy with me. They normally get dry and flakey throughout the winter months so I usually know exactly what to do to manage them. I can’t live without the Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy when my lips are painfully dry. So throughout almost every day of October I applied this at night time to help soothe my lips overnight. And when it was really bad I usually applied a thin layer in the morning under any other lip product that I was wearing. It seriously saves the day every time. Not only does this help make my lips feel better and look less flakey but it almost puts this barrier layer over my lips and stops most of the pain I feel when my lips are dry and cracked. I don’t think I could have gotten through October without this!

Tony Moly – The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Cream

I don’t know what made me pick up this product a lot this month but I’m so thankful that I have! I think it’s really helped to moisturize my skin in conjunction with the Hydro Booster! I’m on a use up samples and trial size products kind of kick so I really wanted to try to use this up since it’s been in my bathroom since I received it in a Ipsy bag several months ago! But after trying it a few times I felt like I could see a noticeable difference in my skin. It’s definitely been a must have for a couple months but I couldn’t stop using it because of the weather in October!

Physicians Formula – The Healthy Foundation

This has been one of my go to foundations over the last several weeks! I’ve been loving a more natural finish on a regular basis and this foundation is giving that to me! The application process is actually really interesting too – it’s a doe foot applicator similar to how a concealer is applied. I love it for when I’m looking for something quick and easy! It lasts a fairly long time on my skin and looks just as good at the end of the day as it does when I first apply it! I am planning to write a full review on the foundation and I’m planning to have that go up later in the month!

Colourpop – Precision Brow Colour

I’m so surprised with how much I’ve been loving this product over the past month. I think there’s just something about this product that makes my brows look full and natural at the same time. Recently I’ve also found this way easier to apply than a thin pencil and I can usually just brush out the product with a spoolie and that makes it look more natural. I mean at the end of the day it looks like I’ve filled in my brows but it doesn’t look that much different than they do when I’ve used a more precise pencil!

Ouai – Finishing CremeHair OilLeave-In Conditioner

I’ve been trying a bunch of new hair care products over the last few months! I have really damaged hair and I’ve been trying my best to bring it back to life which means I’ve been willing to try almost anything! I picked up a Ouai hair care sample pack with some of my Sephora points because I wanted to see if I enjoyed the products before I went and splurged on the full size products. I’ve been using the three products on a fairly regular basis and they do a really great job at making my hair look luscious and healthy! Since I’ve been using all of the products together though I’m not sure if all of them are necessary or it’s just one of the products that is making a huge difference to my hair. I’m super tempted to purchase the full size products in the future though but I’ve been testing out some other hair products and those might be similar quality in my opinion and a bit better of a price point. But I still think these are amazing and they’ve done wonders on my hair!

What have your favourites been over the last month? Have you tried out any of the products that I’ve been loving this month? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
