Project Pan – 18 Products in 2018 (Update #2)

At the beginning of 2018 I set out a plan to try and pan or use up a bunch of my makeup products. Lately I’ve been super overwhelmed with the amount of makeup that I have in my collection and I thought this would be a great way to challenge myself. I wanted to see if I could actually do it. I always wanted to try and see just how long it took me to actually use up a whole product. Since I rarely use up a whole makeup product I thought it would be a great accomplishment to try and do that with a few specific products.

It’s been a lot more difficult that I ever expected to actually focus on using a certain amount of products. I think I also picked out a few products that just aren’t products in my day to day makeup routine – so that makes it a little more difficult to use it on a regular basis.

I do think that I’ve been successful on quite a few products though and it’s exciting to see that I’ve really worked my way through them!

Lorac – PRO Palette

I really don’t think I’ll even hit pan on any of these shadows by the end of the year! It’s such a nice palette but not something I’m super inspired by. Lately I’ve also been testing and reviewing so many things that I only end up using this palette once or twice a month. I really need to try to incorporate at least the basic matte shades into more of my looks because I think that’s the only way I’ll maybe get through a shade or two. I’m so envious of people who can really work through an eyeshadow palette – it’s a serious skill that I definitely don’t have!

Smashbox – Photo Finish Primer Water

I can visibly see that I’ve used up more of the primer water! I can’t see why I wouldn’t finish this up by the end of the year so hopefully I can stay on track over the next few months. I don’t think I would repurchase the primer water again but I’m tempted to get it in one of the fruity scents that they released because I find that super refreshing!

Colourpop – Super Shock Shadow in Cornelious

I swear I’ve realized that these Super Shock Shadows are never ending! I use this fairly often – any time that I’m wearing another colourpop eyeshadow and sometimes when I’m wearing a powder shadow. I don’t know how I’ve managed to not completely use this up yet! It does really make me realize that I probably never need to purchase another colourpop shadow for the rest of my life! I’m hoping to at least make the pan look a little bit more visible by the end of the year! I have a backup of this shade and I don’t even know if I’ll ever end up needing to use it!

L’Oreal – True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup in N1-2

I used this so much over the summer but I started to slow down on my usage over the last month or so. I think it’s just more of a summer colour because even though it’s the lightest Neutral shade in the range it’s still a little dark for me. I just love the formula of this as the day goes on so it was easy to wear this a lot in the summertime! I’m so close to using this up that I’m tempted to mix a little bit in with any of the foundations that I have that are just too pale for me!

Rimmel – London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent

I definitely didn’t use this as much as I should have but I’ve just accepted the fact that this is something that lasts 10 million years. Luckily I’ve never been a huge fan of setting powders so I don’t have that many in my collection. I really don’t have any plans on buying any during the next like 10 years because I swear that’s how long my small collection is going to last me with the rate I’ve been going through this powder!

Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light

I can actually see a slight dip in this bronzer. I know that’s not a huge deal but it’s enough to make me feel like I’m doing a good job at using this bronzer. I think it’s a difficult product to use up even though I wear it all the time. I don’t think it’s going to stop me from buying new bronzer any time in the future because I swear each one is just a little bit different. I love this bronzer so much though and I think it’s awesome that I’m working to use a product that I spent so much money on!

COVER FX – Custom Cover Drops in G20

Well, I think this was a waste of a product to pick for this challenge. I finally got around to using this and I’m pretty positive it dried up because I haven’t been able to get the dropper to pick up any of the product! It’s annoying but I’m sure if I wasn’t participating in this challenge I wouldn’t have even realized this happened and this little bottle would be sitting in my drawers forever. I’m excited to be able to throw this out at the end of the year and I know I definitely won’t be repurchasing it anytime in the future!

Laura Mercier – Foundation Primer in Radiance

I’ve been using this so often lately and I think i’m really close to using it all up! It’s made me realize that I might never get through all of the primers that I currently have in my collection! I’m so excited to hopefully get this outta my collection because the packaging is so bulky and it’s been in my drawer for as long as I can remember. I’m not sure if it really makes a difference at keeping my foundation on longer but I think this is a nice way to add a little extra moisture to my skin!

Marc Jacobs Beauty – Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Ro(cocoa)

This was such a silly product to pick for me! I think at the time when I picked it I was applying eyeliner a lot more and wearing it in my waterline fairly often. But within the last six months I’ve basically sworn off wearing eyeliner in my waterline on a regular basis. I’ve talked about this a few times on my blog but I have some of the worst dry eye symptoms that I’ve ever experience and I can’t justify aggravating them more by putting liner in my waterline. I really need to start using this on my lid though and maybe I’ll get a little bit of use out of it by the end of the year!

Maybelline – Fit Me Concealer in 15 Fair

So I’m basically all finished up with this product. I’m still trying to really get all the last little bits out and I’ll probably end up removing the stopper shortly because I know there’s still a little bit of product that’s remaining at the bottom of the tube. I’m actually really sad that I managed to use it all up because it’s easily become a holy grail product for me! It just works so well for me on days that I avoid wearing foundation!

Benefit Cosmetics – Watt’s Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter in Champagne

I definitely didn’t use this up as much as I should have! I just reached for Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters more than I reached for this. I really really need to put this in my everyday makeup bag because I think that’s the only way I’ll actually end up getting use out of it!

Maybelline – Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Touch Of Spice

I used this lipstick so often and I’m shocked that it’s not completely used up! I do think I ended up putting a bit of a dent in the product though which is exciting! It’s one of my favourite shades for fall and winter so I’m hoping to get more use out of this over the last couple months of the year!

Lorac – Behind the Scenes Eye Primer

This is another product that I’ve managed to completely use up. I think there’s still a bit of product inside but it’s super dry and hard to squeeze out of the tube. I have a newer tube of this primer and there was a huge difference between the two products and I think it’s time to put an end to the primer. I’ve had this for so, so, so long though so I’m happy to finally use it all up!

e.l.f. – Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator – Clear

This just needs to go! I tried using it a few times over the last couple of months and it’s just gross now. It feels like I’m rubbing a rock across my lips – which really isn’t good for them long term! I have so many other amazing lip scrubs that I don’t need to waste my time with this one.

Benefit Cosmetics – 3D BROWtones Instant Color Highlights in 2 Light

I don’t even know how far along I am with using this product because it still works the same way it did when I first bought it. I feel like this is just a never ending product that I’m not going to end up using completely. It just always seems to be wet and full of product every single time I go to use it. I mean I don’t want to complain about that but it’s just crazy that it can last me so long!

Buxom – Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian

I had this in my purse for the longest time to try and use it up! I feel like I did get quite a bit of use out of it and it does look like I’m getting close to the end! It’s not really a fall or winter colour though so I’m hoping I’ll still find a way to use it more often during the last few months of the year!

L’Oreal – Paris Infallible 24HR Eye Shadow in Amber Rush

Sadly I only think I used this about a handful of times over the last several months! This truly is such a huge amount of product that I don’t think I’ll ever get through the whole thing! I think this did rekindle my love with this eyeshadow though because everytime that I did end up wearing it I got quite a few compliments on it and I was told that it really brings out the colour of my eyes! I’m hoping to use it a little more frequently but I know I won’t get anywhere near to panning this product by the end of the year!

Colourpop – Precision Brow Colour in Dope Taupe

This has been one of my go to brow products throughout the last couple months and I do feel like I managed to put a bit of a dent in the product! I think this is going to dry up eventually because I already think it’s a little different compared to when I first bought it. But it works just as well and it’s the perfect brow product for me to use on the weekends or when I have a bit more time to apply my makeup!

I’m starting to think that this might have been too much of a challenge for me to work on over the whole year. I think I’ll have to really evaluate if this is something I want to do for next year or if I want to maybe break it up into smaller challenges throughout the year – maybe even change up the products on a monthly basis? I’m still a little unsure but I do like giving myself the challenge!
