Beauty Products I’ve Used Up – My Empties #5

It’s been such a long time since I last posted a full empties blog! March was the last time I posted one of these so it’s been almost 6 months! I know I’ve gone through more products over the last 6 months than what I’m sharing here but sometimes it’s tough to keep your garbage when it’s so satisfying to throw out a product after you’ve used it up!

But I was clearing out some of my drawers and reorganizing my makeup collection and I found a lot of products lying around that I’ve used up! So I wanted to throw them all together for this post and share my thoughts and experiences and talk about whether I would repurchase them or not!

Eva Nyc – Freshen Up Dry Shampoo

This is probably one of the only dry shampoo products that I’ve tried that didn’t aggravate my scalp. I have a fairly sensitive scalp and most dry shampoos just leave me feeling super uncomfortable and itchy to the point where I have to wash my hair just a few hours after applying them – which really defeats the purpose of a dry shampoo. This also doesn’t leave a white cast on my hair which happens a lot now that my hair colour is a lot darker than it used to be.

Drunk Elephant – T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

I think I shed a tear when I realized that I had used this all up. It’s been such a life changing product for my skin that I’ve seen such a drop in my skin quality since I’ve stopped using it. I just found that this really helped with any texture on my skin and kept my breakouts from getting crazy. I used it a few times a week and I found that was didn’t aggravate my skin but still showed a noticeable difference. I really do need to purchase a full size but I’m tempted to just pick up another of the little sample sized trial sets. That can hold me over until I can save up and justify spending so much on a serum. If you have any suggestions for similar products I’d love to hear about them in the comments below.

Caudalie –  Beauty Elixir

I adored this product and I’d really like to repurchase this is in the future. I don’t know if it really made a difference in my skin but I felt like every time I sprayed this in my night time routine I just had nice and clear skin the next day. It just feels so refreshing and it’s truly a great product for the warmer summer months to just relax and calm down your skin. I have a few other facial sprays that I’d like to use up first but as soon as those are done I’ll definitely be splurging on this!

Garnier – Whole Blends Repairing Mask in Honey Treasures

I think this has been such a great affordable mask for me. I’ve actually had really great luck lately with most of the hair masks that I’ve been trying out from the drugstore! This one just really felt like it moisturized my hair and gave it a whole lotta shine. Sometimes hair masks can leave my hair feeling uncomfortable and as if there’s a film on them but this one didn’t do that which I really like! I believe that I already have another full bottle of this at my parents house and I’ll have to pick it up the next time I’m over there because my hair is in desperate need of some hydration and tlc with the change of season and cooler and rainy weather we’ve been having!

La Mer – The Moisturizing Soft Cream

Honestly please explain to me why this product is so expensive? I thought this was a wonderful moisturizer without being too heavy on my skin but I don’t think I could justify spending so much money on a moisturizer. I’d want to invest that in something that does a lot more for my skin like a toner or serum or essence. But I feel like a moisturizer is so basic and you can get similar products at a fraction of the cost. I’m glad I was able to try the sample but I really don’t think I’ll be buying a full size product unless I win the lottery and have tons of money to blow – but even then I would probably find something better to spend that money on…

Origins – High Potency Night-A-Mins Cream

I loved the scent of this moisturizer! It just got me in such a good mood to go to sleep! But unfortunately I think it was just a little too thick for my skin and made me breakout or get a lot of blackheads and clogged pores. I loved how it made my actual skin feel when I woke up but it’s not worth the skin problems. I basically just ended up using it every so often and made sure to really cleanse my face the next morning because that was the only way I could get through the sample size! I definitely won’t be repurchasing because I don’t really think it’s worthwhile when there’s so many other skincare products that my skin loves completely!

What products have you used up recently? Have you tried any of these products before? I would love to hear about them and continue the conversation in the comments below!
