It’s no surprise that I’m obsessed with Colourpop cosmetics! I spend most of my days on their website adding products to my cart and dreaming about a day that I can afford them all. Lately I’ve been trying to curb some of my purchases. I have a lot more monthly expenses now and can’t spend as much on makeup. So my Colourpop purchases have been way more delayed than they used to be. I really wanted the Colourpop and Kathleen Lights collab the moment it launched but I used my self restraint to wait a little while to purchase it.
At first I was drawn to the eyeshadow palette but the lippies slowly got me super excited the more I saw pictures of them. I loved the three different options she put out. You could achieve so many different looks from those three products. Lately I’ve been wearing simple face and eye makeup but playing around a bit more with my lipstick. This trio has really been a great way of doing that.
The three shades in the trio are: Moonchild, Dreamy and Rêver. Moonchild is an Ultra Glossy Lip in a creme finish. Dreamy and Rêver are both Ultra Satin Lips.
You can buy each of the lippies on their own for 6 dollars or you can buy them as a bundle for 19 dollars.
Colourpop describes Moonchild as a pinky nude with gold glitter. You don’t notice the gold glitter at first but as the gloss wears off throughout the day the glitter mostly stays put. It looks alright on it’s own but I find it looks the best layered over a lighter pinky nude shade. The glosses from Colourpop are amazing and are a must have for any lipstick lover. Overall though I feel like this is one of my least favourite lipsticks in all of Colourpop and Kathleen’s collabs. I’m just so surprised by the glitter in this. I know how much Kathleen dislikes little glitter particles and I think this looks like I dropped a bag of glitter on my lips by the end of the day and not in a nice way. There needs to be either a ton of glitter and metallic or no glitter at all for me and this just sat in the middle of the spectrum.
Colourpop describes Dreamy as a peachy pink. On my lips it really pulls more peachy. I really like how it looks for and it’s a great warmer nude shade. I find it does make my teeth look a little more yellow than I would like it to look. It does look a lot like a bunch of other Colourpop shades that I already own so this wasn’t really anything that I needed. I do think this is a great colour for spring time so I’ll get a lot of use out of it for the next few months!
Colourpop describes Rêver as a neon orange red. It’s really neon and super unique from just about everything that I have in my collection. It has a really great almost gold flip to it that I think is perfect for the spring and summer months! I love that there was such a bold lip colour in this collection. I think this was really the colour that saved the bundle for me and drew me in.
Overall I would recommend the bundle if you’re a huge fan of Colourpop and Kathleen Lights. If you have similar shades than you might be better off just buying the specific shades that you might be interested in. Do you own any of these shades?
