Empties – January 2018

Empties – January 2018

I’m so excited that I recently went through a ton of skincare and haircare products. After deciding to pull together a project pan I’m hoping I’ll be able to add more makeup products to my empties posts. I find makeup just takes a million years to actually use up.

After moving at the end of last year and having more limited funds for a bit I wanted to try to use up a lot of the hair and skin care samples I had in my collection. I also just wanted to try to get rid of a lot of stuff since I don’t have as much storage space as I maybe need for the amount of product that I own.

I’m pretty pleased with the amount of product that I’ve used up within the last month or so. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to do these types of posts on a more regular basis throughout 2018.

Pantene Pro-V – 3 Minute Miracle Repair and Protect Deep Conditioner

I’ve had this for such a long time and I just finally finished it up. I used it all the time when I first bought it and then it somehow was lost in my room but I found it again during my move. This conditioner gives my hair such a smooth and silky feeling. It isn’t too heavy and doesn’t leave a film or greasiness to my hair which is great! I find this is a pretty great affordable option. The packaging is also perfect in my opinion. I hate when the deep conditioner or hair mask comes in a jar. There’s something that weirds me out when I’m reaching into the jar and grabbing hair product.

Project Beauty – Hairgurt Smoothing Yogurt Shampoo

I received this in a Boxycharm box a while ago and just never got around to using it. I don’t know why but I really don’t like the scent of strawberry banana. The product worked well but I can’t really get over the scent. I would maybe purchase this shampoo in a different scent but I don’t think it was really life changing and I could definitely find a shampoo out there that I like a lot more. I’m glad I was able to finish it up and clear it out of the condo though! I have way too many hair care products for someone who spends very little effort on her hair!

Lush – Bubbly Shower Gel

I received this as a gift last year from my cousin for Christmas. I kind of made it my mission half way through the year to focus on finishing this up. The best before date was December 2017 and I thought it would be a good idea to finish it before that day. A while ago I started using a loofah though and I’ve come to realize that I go through way less body wash when I have a loofah. So it actually ended up taking me forever to finish up this little jar of product. I really liked how it smelt and I felt it did a great job at cleansing my skin. I would definitely look into purchasing this again in the future! There’s a little bit of product left in the bottle but I just can’t seem to squeeze it out of the jar and I really don’t like watering down body wash so I’m just gunna call it quits on this one.

Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

I love all the Briogeo products that I’ve tried so far. This is one of the brands that I always somehow receive in subscription boxes but I don’t mind at all. This is a really great hair mask. I always find that my hair feels really healthy after using it. I really need to buy the full size of this because I’ve already blown through 3 or 4 of the sample sizes of this product.

Philosophy – Renewed Hope In A Jar

I’ve gone through so many bottles and tubes of this but I love what it does to my face. I have a full sized jar of this that’s unopened that I really need to get around to using. I was trying to get through some of the sample sizes of it because I’ve had those for quite some time and I didn’t want them to expire. This always leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated when I use it as my night cream. I don’t find it to be too heavy for my skin either which is good because it never causes me to break out.

Murad – Perfecting Day Cream

I purchased this on a whim a little while ago because I wanted to try a new day cream with spf in it. It was a good product and it didn’t cause me to break out at all. I wasn’t particularly wowed by it though so I don’t think I would purchase it again. It lasted a really long time though and I really liked how it was in a squeezy tube. I felt like it was a little more sanitary than some of the jar moisturizers that I’ve tried.

Drunk Elephant – TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

I actually hate that I love this product so much. I’ve purchased a bunch of samples of this because I didn’t want to bite the bullet and pay for the full price product. But after using so much of this I really think I need to just buy it. Whenever I use this I find that my skin looks so clear. It really helps with some of the texture that I have as well. At the next Sephora VIB sale I think I’m going to finally pay the hefty price tag to buy a full size of this serum.

Neutrogena – Ultra Light Cleansing Oil

This is the second bottle of this cleansing oil that I’ve used up. It’s one of my all time favourite ways to remove my makeup. I love the scent of this which makes the makeup removing experience that much better. It’s really good at removing some of the tough makeup products on my face but I do find that it’s necessary to go in with another cleanser after. The oil mostly just breaks up the makeup products and a second cleanser helps to remove it all. I will definitely purchase another bottle of this because it last quite a long time and works really well. But I think I’m going to wait a while to do that because I would like to use up some of the other skin care products I have in my collection right now.

Have you used any of these products? Were your thoughts on them different than mine? I would love to hear all about it in the comments below!
