Recently I’ve introduced a new blog series – Makeup Bag Monday. I’ve been loving watching and reading other bloggers posts and videos so I wanted to try it out for myself.
Each week I put five products to the test and review them. This week I focused on a few new products and a bunch that I’ve had in my collection for a while. I ended up liking all of the products so it was a good week for makeup for me for the most part!
This has always been one of my all time favourite bronzers. I’m obsessed with how delicious it smells. It has the perfect summer tropical scent to it. I love wearing it in the winter time because it makes me feel slightly less sad about the fact that there’s always so much snow on the ground!
The bronzer has a perfect buildable formula to it. It blends like butter into my skin. I always have the most perfect glow and colour to my skin when I’m wearing this bronzer.
Before this week I had only tried the eye crayon in the black shade and I loved that one. I have a full sized crayon in the Ro(Cocoa) shade so I figured I needed to get some use out of this. It’s just been sitting in a makeup drawer since I bought it.
I don’t know what is in this formula but it’s such a good one for the waterline. I’m still trying to remove it the day after I apply it – even when I’ve gone heavy on the makeup remover.
This is a really great warm brown that has a bit of a sheen to it. I really like how this looks on the waterline. It still brings a look together without being as intense as a black liner.
The hype has been real with this foundation. I swear it’s all anyone has been talking about for weeks! I’m super pleased with the shade range but it makes buying online that much more difficult. I decided that since I have a million foundations in my collection right now I would just try out the sample that they were giving during launch to see if this was a foundation for me. Luckily the sample colour was my shade and it ended up being perfect for me.
I first tried it out with the Fenty Primer and I absolutely hated it! I don’t know why but it looked as if my pores were spitting out the foundation by the end of the night. It just balled up and looked a little weird. I tried it with a silicone-type primer after that and it looked the exact same. I then went in with the hydrating Smashbox primer and it looked way better!
I’m super thankful that I picked this foundation out for a makeup bag monday. I probably would not have forced myself to find a primer that worked for this for me. I would have just threw this to the side and never even used it again.
I’m a huge fan of Casey Holmes and I’ve been dying to try out her collab with Smashbox since it launched. I just never really felt motivated to actually purchase it. I thought the price tag was a little high – even though I’ve paid way more for a single pan highlighter in the past. But when I saw this it was included in a Smashbox palette holiday set I knew that was a sign that I needed to purchase it!
I’m so happy I did because this is such a gorgeous highlight palette! The first two shades are the perfect satin shimmer shades and the last shade gives you a little pop with some glitter. I usually just mix all of the colours together if I’m looking for something glam or the first two if I want a more subtle pop. They are the perfect colours for lighter to medium skin tones!
I’m such a huge fan of the Bite Beauty multisticks! You can actually read a full review of all the Bite Beauty lip products that I have here.
This shade has a bit of a cooler tone to it which is pretty unique to most of the other mid-tone brown shades that I own. I actually really enjoyed wearing it and I’m super happy I got a sample of it because I probably never would have bought it on my own.
The products that I’ll be using next week are:
Maybelline – Dream Sun Bronzing Powder
Urban Decay – Troublemaker Mascara
Benefit – Watt’s Up Highlighter
Shiseido – Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation
Tarte – Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue in Nude
