I had a serious jam packed week this week. I had a whole bunch of meetings and interviews so I barely had time to apply makeup most days. But I still managed to test out a few products throughout the week. I think because I was super busy and super stressed my skin decided to revolt. I had a ton of breakouts and I was both oily and dry at different points throughout the day. Keep reading to see exactly which products I loved and how my skin affected some of these products.
I was shook when I saw that Colourpop was releasing a concealer. If you know me you should be well aware that I’m OBSESSED with Colourpop. The addiction is getting a little out of control at this point but I really don’t care. Everything they release is always high quality and it’s so dang affordable so I don’t even feel bad about buying so much. So there was no questions asked when the concealers launched that I needed them in my hands stat!
Now I have weird mixed feeling about this which is a little odd. When I first tried them during the week I couldn’t believe how amazing they made my skin look. My blemishes were hidden and my undereye circles had been banished. But by the end of the week the product started balling up on my face and wasn’t really blending properly around the edges. I’m having some really weird skin issues lately so I think that’s the problem rather than the concealer. I’m going to keep using them though because I think I’m just having a really odd skin moment currently.
You do have to be careful with the colour selection of these. They oxidize right after applying them so you might want to go with a shade lighter than you were planning on.
I’ve had this in my collection for so long and never use it. I always forget about single eyeshadows so I’m trying to make more of an effort to use them.
This one is so gorgeous and looks great all over the lid. I found this looked really well with a simple makeup look. I mainly wore this all over the lid with a warm, matte brown buffed into the crease. It also had a really great lasting power and looked pigmented by the end of the day when I was going in to wash off my makeup.
I need to wear this a lot more often so I might try to depot it somehow and put it into a magnetic palette. If you’ve tried to do that with this brand leave me some tips in the comments below!
I truly believe that this was the first blush that I actually enjoyed using. Before I owned this I would rarely wear any kind of blush on my cheeks. So this holds quite the special place in my heart.
Madly is one of the colours that I mainly wear in the fall and winter. I usually gravitate to more peachy tones in the spring and summer. Since the weather is starting to get colder I thought it would be a good time to bust this out and get some solid use out of it.
I continue to fall in love with this blush even more everytime that I use it. I think this just gives the perfect flush to the cheeks. Everyone should have it in their collection. It’s weird to say that though because I’ve never really felt any kind of strong feelings towards any other blush.
Alright. I’m torn when it comes to this product. I’ve seen everyone and their dog hype up these foundations. They are super affordable and had some crazy long waitlist to receive them when they first launched so I knew there had to be something special about them.
I’m really not sure if it’s just my skin or if this foundation just doesn’t work for me. I found that it either bunched up and settled really obviously in my creases or it basically slid off my face. There was never a happy medium where it looked good on my skin. I tried a few different primers, a mattifying and hydrating primer. I’m just stumped on how to make this work for my skin. I’m still going to give it a few more times before I make a definite decision. If you have any tips or tricks please share them with me in the comments below! I could really use all the help I could get with this one.
I think I’m about as obsessed with Maybelline as I am with Colourpop. My Maybelline lipstick collection is rather excessive. I just can’t get enough of all the matte lipsticks in their range. They have every colour that you could want and I just love how affordable they are. I actually went on the craziest hunt for the original Matte collection when it first released. I was so determined to pick up Touch of Spice that I think my friends were tired of going shopping with me by the end of it.
A little while ago they released a new range of matte lips call the Inti-Matte Nudes collection with a bunch of different nude shades. I was in love with it and wanted to by every single colour. So far I only own three shades but I think those were the best nude shades for me and I probably don’t need too many more of those ones. I haven’t worn them too often so I thought it would be fun to focus on it this week. I love this shade and it wore so well throughout the day. Maybelline just had one of the best comfortable matte lipstick formulas. My lips never feel uncomfortable or dry when I wear one of these lipsticks.
Overall this was definitely a week of mixed reviews. I really feel like I wasn’t able to give a fair review to the foundation and concealer because my face is going through a bit of a meltdown right now. I’ll definitely have up some more reviews of both of those products later on when I can truly come to the conclusion of my feelings on each of them.
