In the past few years, Colourpop Cosmetics has easily become one of my favourite makeup brands. They have an amazing selection of products at an affordable price – even with the cost of shipping to Canada, currency conversion charges and duty fees. My favourite colourpop products have always been any of their lip products. Recently, I’ve been expanding my horizons a little bit and playing around with their eyeshadow products. I’ve always been a big fan of orange tones when it comes to eyeshadow so I knew I needed to pick up the Zingara eyeshadow quad. The Colourpop Zingara quad is easily my favourite collection of eyeshadows that has been released from Colourpop.
The packaging on this quad is really unique and fits perfectly with the shades. This was released as part of the Colourpop fall collection and the print matches all of the other fall items that launched.
I love a lot of the single shadows from colourpop, many of them are products that I use on a regular basis. I usually struggle with the eyeshadow quads, there is usually a shade or two that I know I’ll never use. With the Colourpop Zingara Quad I know that I will use each of these shades on a regular basis.
The four shades that come in the Zingara quad are:
Paradox: A cool-toned burgundy red in a Satin finish
Elixir: A mid-tone true terracotta in a Matte finish
Seeker: A warm reddish brown in a Matte finish
Jinxie: A soft gold in a Pearlized finish
Paradox is a more unique shade in my opinion. I don’t have anything like this in my collection. It’s a burgundy shade with a cool tone red/pink flip to it. I found it to be a little bit difficult to catch that duochrome finish on camera in my swatches. The duochrome isn’t too overpowering though so it still is a shade that can work on both the lid and in the crease.
Elixir is a colour that speaks to my soul. I don’t know what it is but I’m completely drawn to putting on orange eyeshadow in anyway possible. I think it has to do with the fact that it makes my blue eyes pop since they are complimentary colours on a colour wheel. This really is a wonderful shade of orange, it’s the perfect shade to warm up the crease.
Seeker is a great shade to deepen up the crease on any eyeshadow look. It’s a brown that helps to warm up any look without looking to muddy on the eye. I accidently used a little too much product the first time I tried out this shade and I was still able to blend everything out nicely.
Jinxie is the star of the show in the quad. It’s such a wonderful shade for all over the lid. I honestly think that you could mix this into almost any look that you create. It gives the lid an almost wet look to it, but it still has a decent amount of gold colour to it.
Whenever I wear the shades in this quad I always get a ton of compliments. A few people have told me that it makes my eyelids look like a sunset, which I think is a pretty cool compliment.
My favourite to wear these shades is to use them all at once. Elixir to warm up the crease and blend out the look. Seeker to deepen the outer lid and crease. Jinxie all over the lid. Paradox on lower lash line, with Elixir to blend it out a bit.
