I’m back with the second installment of my Makeup Bag Monday series. This definitely has become something that I’m enjoying so far. It’s been fairly easy to keep up with. I’ve also found that it really brings out my true feelings on products. I can usually just get away with trying something out once, not liking it and throwing it into a drawer to forget about. But forcing myself to use it basically everyday for a week makes me know for sure whether or not I’m truly into the product. If I dread using the product then it’s probably time to get it out of my collection.
In my Makeup Bag Monday series I try out 5 products over the course of a week. Each Monday I post my feelings on those 5 products. It’s a great way to get mini reviews of each item.
Ipsy is one of my all time favourite subscription services. I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy long before I even had an idea of how to use a majority of the products that I received. It’s an inexpensive way to try out a bunch of different beauty products on a regular basis. Each month, subscribers receive a Glam Bag with 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. The service costs $10 USD, shipping is free within the US and an additional $4.95 USD to ship to Canada.
The theme this month was Good Vibes Only. They were trying to make a bag that looked like the sunset. Ipsy was hoping that it would inspire you to be a free spirit and pass on good vibes this month.
I’ve decided to try introducing a new series on my blog. I’ve been seeing this go around social media and youtube and I thought it would be fun to try out. I’m going to post a makeup bag Monday post each week talking about a few products that I tried out over the course of the week. I want to try to use these almost every day over the course of the week. I’ll stick to around 5 products each week because that seems manageable in my mind.
This week I went for a lot of simple products that I’ve been neglecting recently.
Mac Cosmetics was one of the first brands that I purchased lip products from. I actually owned Mac Lipsticks before I even liked wearing lipstick on a regular basis. Which is crazy to think because I am lipstick obsessed now! I was mainly introduced to Mac products through their super huge warehouse sales that they have every three months in Toronto. That’s definitely where I purchased most of these!
I’m a huge fan of the formula of Mac lipsticks. They always wear so well throughout the day and are super comfortable. They have such a good selection of colours and finishes that you’ll definitely find the exact colour that you’re looking for. Since I tend to gravitate towards nude colours that’s what makes up most of my collection.
I’ve rounded up all of my Mac lipsticks and swatched them for you!
There is nothing more satisfying than completely using up a makeup or skincare product. I have so many products in my collection and so many on the go that I usually never get to the end of something. I’ll try to regularly write an empties post so that I can keep myself accountable for working through what I already have.
I always go through phases where I feel as if I need to buy every single new product out there that I tend to neglect a lot of the products I already own. The next few months are going to be a bit different for my finances so I’m going to try a lot more to use up and enjoy more of what I already own!
Recently I’ve gone through a few of my favourite products as well as some that I was a little disappointed by.
