Every week I love playing around with new makeup products. My biggest addiction is lipstick products. I have way more products than I could ever need. Recently I’ve decided that I need to try to get out of my comfort zone and wear more products on a regular basis. Keeping a weekly lip diary has been a really fun way to keep track of everything and holds me accountable for wearing more products.
I swear I’m a sucker for a good nude lip colour. I wear a nude lip 99% of the time that I wear lipstick. There’s a reason I decided to name my blog nude lip diaries. Even though I have a pretty excessive collection of nude lipsticks, I still feel as if I should be purchasing more. In my mind nude lipsticks are always a little bit different when it comes to formula, consistency, wear time or colour. My favourite way to try out nude lips lately has been the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip sets. I reviewed one of the past sets on my blog which you can find here.
My week in lipstick series has been such a fun was to keep my own personal weekly diary while bringing that together with my huge love for lipstick. It seems like such a fitting series based on the title of my blog! After receiving so many great comments on my last week in lipstick post I definitely wanted to try to keep this up. This was a fun week for me where I was fairly busy almost every single day.
I really want to try to spend more time in 2017 taking a break from technology and social media. I find that a lot of my day is spent scrolling through Facebook and Instagram. When I’m trying to relax or watch some kind of television show I usually am looking at another screen.
I’ve decided this year that I want to take more time to focus on myself. I’m going to really pull back from the amount of time I spend on social media. I think I really feed into the fear that I’m going to miss out on some life changing post online. It’s important to get myself out of that mentality. I need to try to realize that I’m not really missing much when I limit my time on social media.
Ipsy is one of my all time favourite subscription services. I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy long before I even had an idea of how to use a majority of the products that I received. It’s an inexpensive way to try out a bunch of different beauty products on a regular basis. Each month, subscribers receive a Glam Bag with 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. The service costs $10 USD, shipping is free within the US and an additional $4.95 USD to ship to Canada.
