The Nars Hot Tryst Cheek Palette was one of the few palettes that I spent a lot of time debating if I need/want it. I tend to just go with my impulses when it comes to makeup purchases but I spent quite some time debating if this was necessary for my collection. In the end I couldn’t deny the gorgeous packaging and the fairly decent reviews on the palette. I knew I would regret not picking up the palette. I did manage to get it on sale though so that was a bonus!
My first thought when I saw the palette was that I was shocked by how small and compact the palette was. For some reason when I saw pictures I assumed it was a lot larger than it actually is. It basically fits to be the size of my hand. I don’t necessarily need a product that is huge and takes up space because I’ll probably never even make it through all of this product anyways. I guess just because of the high price point I expected a little more – but it is a Nars product and that usually comes with a more luxury price tag.
The shades in the palette are:
KINGS ROAD (Opalescent pink)
SWINDLE (Sparkling pale pink)
UNTAMED (Shimmering magenta)
FRICTION (Shimmering taupe)
BOWERY (Shimmering coral)
ADRENALINE (Raspberry with gold shimmer)
The top row is a lot less pigmented – which isn’t the worst thing. With cheek products I do like less pigment because it’s easier to blend out and build up that way. I don’t want clown cheeks or crazy intense highlight with one light swipe of product. This way I can ensure that I have the exact look that I’m going for.
I’m definitely excited to have this in my collection and use it up more! It’s tough to use the product though because the imprint on each pan is so gorgeous but I want to try to get a lot of use out of it and make the purchase worth it!
