Ipsy is one of my all time favourite subscription services. I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy long before I even had an idea of how to use a majority of the products that I received. It’s an inexpensive way to try out a bunch of different beauty products on a regular basis. Each month, subscribers receive a Glam Bag with 5 deluxe samples and/or full-sized beauty products. The service costs $10 USD, shipping is free within the US and an additional $4.95 USD to ship to Canada.
I was actually really intrigued by the products I was sent in this months Ipsy bag! There was quite a few brand name/well known brands that I had included in my bag. Which doesn’t always happen.

This post is going up a little late because I had quite the postal problem when it came to my bag. I live outside of Toronto and that’s originally where the bag arrived in Canada, but somehow it ended up in British Columbia and then it didn’t move for almost a week and then showed up at my house. Normally my bag arrives around the middle of the month but this time it was almost October by the time the bag showed up at my door. I’ve never had that happen with Ipsy before and the postal service was really the one to blame for this. But luckily the bag showed up eventually and that’s what really mattered!
ABOUT THE BAG
This statement-making clutch is graphic, bold, and will inspire you to express yourself all month long.
Omg I’m obsessed with this adorable bag! This is exactly what I’ve been wanting from Ipsy for a while now. I’ve actually been using a lot of the bags recently for things like my pencil cases, treat bags or my purse makeup bag. So I’ll definitely be switching all the makeup in my purse to this little bag!
I think I already have enough hair products to last me a lifetime of never having to buy them again. Even though I don’t really need it I always like trying new ones out because you never know when your going to find the best hair product! After using this a few times with different shampoo and conditioning products I did find that this product gave my hair a smooth and soft texture. It had a really fine mist to it and I think that made a difference in making sure that a lot of the strands were covered in product. I can’t wait to continue using this and see how it affects my hair long term. The product also states that you can use it on dry hair as a heat protector – I very rarely heat style my hair but I like that this is a two in one type of product. I like being able to have a product that I can easily grab if I need it for this purpose but that it still works well for other things!
I was a little disappointed when I saw this product in my sneak peak because I really never have the best luck with this brand. But I was so surprised because this actually performed so well on the eyes! The shimmer shade just glided on perfectly and the matte shade really blended well without being patchy or hard to work with. I’m still surprised with how much I like the formula and the shades that come in this duo. I probably won’t reach for it very often to be honest since I always end up picking up palettes but it would be nice to throw in my purse so that I can apply it quickly on my way to work or for travelling!
I was pretty surprised to get a Morphe product this month. I’ve yet to try out their highlighting products so I was super excited to give it a try! But unfortunately I was so disappointed because the highlighter came to me completely shattered. I even tried opening the packaging to see if I could maybe repress the highlight and it just made such a mess that I don’t know if I’m willing to try. I did email Ipsy about this and they said they would send me a new one – but that I should be prepared to potentially get a similar, but different product because sometimes they run out of stock. Hopefully I’ll get sent this one because it is something I’ve really been wanting to try!
I always really enjoy the Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipsticks! The formula is really comfortable on the lips and it lasts a decent amount of time throughout the day. This formula doesn’t always hold up to super greasy foods though. I had a buttered bagel and it didn’t hold up well through that. But a lot of liquid lips can’t even handle something like that so I’m not surprised. I did really like the colour! I think it’s a great shade that can work in just about any season and with most looks. It’s super versatile!
I wasn’t completely sure about this product when I originally saw the sneak peek because I didn’t really know anything about the brand and I definitely don’t need another blush. After trying it though it’s a great product. It does have a little bit of kick up but it blends nicely on my cheeks. I’m not 100% in love with the colour of the blush though. I think it’s a little bit too bright pink for me. I usually like more mauve or orange toned blushes.
Overall, I’m actually pretty happy with the bag this month and I think I’ll be super excited if I manage to get a Morphe highlighter in my replacement package. Did you get any awesome products in your Ipsy bag this month?
