Throughout the month of August I spent a lot of time just working with my basic everyday makeup products. I rarely ventured out into new products because I just didn’t want to spend more than 5 minutes on my makeup most days! But there was a few products that I managed to work into my routine and fall in love with.

I’ve only purchased one shade of this lipstick and I feel like I need to own them all! This has become my perfect lipstick to help me transition into fall. It’s such a comfortable formula and leaves my lips looking healthy and glossy. It’s a fairly opaque lipstick but still has a sheerness to it that makes such a deep shade super wearable on an everyday basis! It doesn’t last very long on the lips but it’s super easy to re-apply and I totally don’t mind reapplying a couple times throughout the day!
Lately I’ve been treating my nails horribly. I’ve been picking them in any way that I can and it leaves my nails and cuticles looking ROUGH! But for the last month and a half I started using this Essie polish in between wearing my Jamberry nail wraps and I’ve noticed such a difference to how my nails look. They do feel like they are slowly starting to grow in stronger! I don’t know if that’s all in my head or if it’s actually making a difference but it does make my nails feel a lot better overall. I also love that it doesn’t need a base coat or a top coat and that it dries fairly quickly! I hate waiting around for my nails to dry and this doesn’t force me to be useless for like an hour while it’s drying.
I think I’m slowly but surely becoming more of a blush addict. I used to hate blush but I think it’s because I was just wearing the wrong blush colours! I definitely am more into the peach tones and warmer pinks as well as colours that look close to a bronzer shade. This is the perfect light bronze/neutral shade for my skintone. I think it looks perfect for everyday and I’ve been dipping into this blush palette a lot over the month of August mainly to use the shade Baby Love.
I’ve written a full blog post about my love for this eyeshadow so I won’t go into too much detail here (you can find my thoughts on it here). It’s been the perfect summer eyeshadow for me and I don’t know why I’ve never thought of yellow eyeshadow as a potential option for me. It’s just such a random colour that I felt like it would never look right on my eyelids. But what a surprise for me to find out that it’s my new favourite colour to wear! I get a ton of compliments when I’m rocking this shade and it really boosts up my confidence!
I’ve easily become obsessed with the facial spray. Over the last few weeks I’ve been so bad with my skincare because I just have no motivation at the end of the day to remove all my makeup. I really should be doing my skincare routine earlier in the evening but I just never feel like doing it. Since I’ve been so lazy my skin hasn’t been looking the greatest and it needs a little tlc. This isn’t a miracle potion but I do think it’s helped a bit with some of my acne flare ups and it’s super refreshing on a hot and humid day. It’s been a toasty couple weeks in Toronto and having this to spray in the morning, midday and evening has been great!
What were your favourite beauty products during the month of August? I would love to hear about them in the comments below! I’m excited to start to transition into fall makeup and all the warm looks that come with that!
