Ipsy is one of my all time favourite subscription services. I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy long before I even had an idea of how to use a majority of the products that I received. It’s an inexpensive way to try out a bunch of different beauty products on a regular basis. Each month, subscribers receive a Glam Bag with 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. The service costs $10 USD, shipping is free within the US and an additional $4.95 USD to ship to Canada.
Ipsy is seriously stepping it up when it comes to their bags lately. I really think the quality is a whole lot better and the size is becoming so much more functional. The print on the bag this month was adorable and really got me excited for springtime!
When I first saw the products I was getting there wasn’t anything that I was crazy excited for. But it seemed like it would be a solid grouping of products that I hoped I would get a decent amount of use out of!
This looked like such a fun product when I first opened my bag. I’m loving golden eyeshadows lately so I was hoping that this would apply well. After trying it a couple times though I was pretty disappointed by this and don’t think I’ll use it much in the future. Somehow every time I wore this I ended up with glitter all over my face. I even tried wetting my brush and applying it and I just didn’t get the look that I was hoping for with the glitter staying in place! This colour is very similar to Colourpop’s lightning bug and that’s such a hassle free eyeshadow. I really want to love pressed pigments but I just don’t find them worth the actually work it takes to make them look good. Especially when you can get such a similar look from a Colourpop super shock shadow. Do you love pressed pigments? I would love to know your tips and tricks in the comments below!
This was definitely my favourite product this month. I’m a little shocked that I loved this so much but I swear the smell of it won me over. It smells like cookies and I would eat it if it wouldn’t kill me. I found it did make my hair seem a little smoother and manageable. I’m excited to see how it works with my hair in the next few weeks because I’ve cut off a lot of my dead ends. I find having healthier hair really helps you see how these types of products truly work for you!
I’m really getting bored of getting eyeliners in my Ipsy bag. My eyeliner container is starting to overflow and I really don’t use them nearly as much as I probably should. This was a little unique because it had the stamp on one end but I doubt I’ll really ever use it because it’s not the most practical product for everyday use. I’d also be afraid that I’ll smudge it the first time that I wear it and have a huge black blob on my face. I also found that the felt tip was a little dry compared to other Ciate liners that I’ve used in the past.
I think this sample was such a great size for a face mask! I’ll get so much use out of this and it will give me a lot of time to really see if this product works for me! After trying it out a couple of times I do think I’ll like it! I didn’t find it to be too drying and my skin felt comfortable after using it. I didn’t really notice a huge difference in the clearness of my skin or how my pore looked after using it though. That isn’t always something that can happen in a few weeks of using a mask though. It claims to help reduce shine and I think my skin looked just as shiny as usual after applying the mask. The texture of my skin felt softer after using this though which was a bonus.
I was excited to try this out because the colour on the packaging looked so fun and unique. I also love how the applicator looks because it’s has such a cool pen like tip to it. But when I applied this it ended up looking splotchy and discoloured. I was super disappointed by the formula as well. It just dried out my lips within a few hours of wearing it. This was also pretty difficult to get off which is fairly normal for a staining lip product.
Overall, this was such a disappointing bag. I had high hopes for everything and all of the makeup products were a huge flop.
