January 2018 Makeup Favourites

January 2018 Makeup Favourites

January has been quite a busy month for me. I worked a lot of earlier shifts so I didn’t have as much time in the morning to apply all the makeup that I usually do. I went to work pretty often with a bare face and I’ve been a lot more comfortable doing that. But I had a lot of time on the weekends to play with makeup and have some fun with it. I spent a lot of time blogging this month so a few of my favourites were products that I was testing out for blog posts.

Colourpop – My Little Pony Eyeshadow Palette

Lately I’ve been in such an eyeshadow rut. I just don’t really feel inspired by eyeshadow. This palette has been helping me break out of that. It’s fairly wearable for everyday but also super fun and bright. I was a little sad that it arrived broken but I was able to make it work and press it back together. The bottom row is a little terrifying since it has some really bold cool toned shades but I loved how they looked. I loved using the blue/teal shade (Princess Sparkle) on my lower lash line as a fun pop of colour.

I know this palette is on the verge of being discontinued so if you were thinking about purchasing it or like the colours than I highly recommend purchasing it asap!

Maybelline – Eyestudio Brow Drama Pomade Crayon in Soft Brown

Since I’ve been speeding through my makeup every morning I’ve been wanting to get my brows done quick! This has been a really quick way of filling in most of my brows. I basically use this to as the first step of my brow routine – which sounds silly since I’m trying to get them done quickly. But this fills in the majority of my brows in a couple swipes. I then go in with another, more precise eyebrow pencil to clean it up and make my brows look as good as they are going to look.

I know a lot of people aren’t a huge fan of this since it has such a large tip but if you can make it work it’s a wonderful product!

Fenty Beauty By Rihanna – Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Candy Venom

I’m so surprised that I really like this lipstick. The colour is so bold but I found myself drawn to it and wearing it often in the month of January. The formula of this is unreal and I really think it could be one of my favourite lipstick formulas that I’ve tried in a while. It’s so comfortable and lasts a decent amount of time on my lips. I need all of the shades in my collection right this minute. I’ve already added the shade Freckle Fiesta to my shopping cart and I’m just waiting for my next paycheck to pull the trigger and make the purchase! I reviewed this in a recent post so you can read some more of my thoughts on this here.

Maybelline – The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara

I’ve really been focused on using up my mascara in the best way possible. I’ve been trying to keep on top of throwing out my mascara when it’s expired and I’ve been really good at sticking to that. I recently opened this mascara up and I think it’s been really great. It gives me a lot of volume and a lot of length. You do have to be careful with this though because it can be a little clumpy on my lashes. It doesn’t flake on me or bleed and it has a really long lasting formula. This also manages to keep my lashes curled throughout the day which doesn’t always happen with mascara.

Maybelline – Superstay 24H Full Coverage Foundation

This has been one of my staple foundations lately. It’s just such a great formula for me. The Maybelline foundations wear so well on my skin and this one was no different. I have a full review of this that you can read here so I won’t get too in depth on my feelings. This was one of the few foundations that I wore throughout the month of January. It has such great coverage which was important for me this month. My skin has just been out of control and randomly breaking out a bunch.

SHOP THIS POST

Apparently this was a month of loving Maybelline products. Maybelline is one of my favourite brands from the drugstore. It’s not huge surprise to me that I would fall in love with all these products!

Have you tried any of these products? I would love to hear about your favourites this month in the comments below!
