Recently Sephora released a few new Favorites lip sets. Those are always my go to and I think I’ve purchased every single one over the last couple of years. They are usually such good value and a great way to try out new products or different colours. One of the newest sets is the Give Me Some New Lips set. It includes a bunch of newly released lipstick products. Because they are all new I knew there wouldn’t be any way that I already owned any of the products which is super exciting. Before purchasing this I was a little unsure of all the colours but I knew that I wanted to try all of the formulas.

I’ve been wanting to try these lip strobes since I originally saw them launch. I love a glittery metallic lipstick look and this really gives you that. I think this is such a cool idea for a product. It’s a fairly comfortable formula but it can feel a little gritty when you smush your lips together. It’s basically just a glittery, metallic gloss so it is very transfer proof and kind of sticky on the lips. It has a fairly strong scent. I can’t exactly pinpoint the scent though. It’s kind of fruity but also kind of vanilla scented. I don’t hate the scent but I don’t love it either. I don’t think the colour is perfect for me but I like it on top of a nude lipstick. It doesn’t look good on its own though, it gives me serious frosty lip vibes. Overall, I like it to spruce up my lipstick but I don’t think it’s something I’ll reach for very often.
I’ve heard a bunch of popular beauty bloggers talk about how amazing this product is so I was pumped to be able to give this a try. It’s a very, very, very soft lipstick. Like I was terrified to push it on my lips because I felt it was going to completely squish the product. Because it was so soft though it did feel fairly comfortable on my lips. I felt like I forgot I was even wearing any lipstick. But it wasn’t completely transfer proof and wasn’t very long lasting. It didn’t even make it through a sushi lunch on one of the days that I wore it, which I find a lot of lipsticks usually do. I think the colour was really nice and subtle but not something I usually gravitate to. I wish it would have been more nude or more mauve, but it had a really weird blue/purple flip to it that just wasn’t very flattering. The colour was kind of just meh in my eyes and something that I won’t really end up using much.
I’ve really enjoyed all of the Smashbox Always On Matte Lipsticks so I was super excited to give this one a try. I love metallic lips so I figured that I would really enjoy these if they were a similar formula. After trying it out a couple of times I think the formula is basically the same as the regular matte lipsticks. I could barely even tell that I was wearing any lipstick when I had this on. I would love to try some of the other shades because I really think this is one of the more comfortable metallic lipsticks that I’ve tried in quite some time.
This colour just wasn’t working for me though. I don’t think I’m a huge fan of it which really surprised me. This is basically a rose gold shade but it’s more gold than rose. My boyfriend told me it looks like I melted gold on my lips and he wasn’t a fan. I found though that if you used a nude lip liner it pulled more of the rose tones – but that also stopped it from being a kiss proof formula.
Overall I’m a fan of this but it’s something that I have to work with rather than just throwing it on my lips and heading out the door.
Every treStiQue product that I’ve tried in the past has been nice but I’ve never been wowed by it. I usually get treStiQue products in subscription boxes and they always end up sitting in a drawer after I’ve used it a couple times. After trying this out a couple times I’m afraid the same thing will happen. It’s really just a basic lip balm. Normally with a plumping lip product there’s a tingling sensation but this had nothing. It was actually a little difficult to apply because of how large and round the product was. It reminds me of an eos lip balm in terms of how it applied to my lips but this was larger and less pointed which isn’t ideal for something that’s tinted. I thought the tint that it gave my lips was nice though. It’s the perfect product for a minimal makeup day so I will try to use this going forward but I don’t know how successful I’ll be with that.
This was the lipstick that really convinced me to buy this set. The Fenty Beauty lipsticks have such gorgeous packaging and the formula looked perfect for me. I wasn’t super pleased with the colour when I was looking into purchasing the set but I figured it would be a good way for me to test out the formula. I could always purchase other colours if I liked this one.
After testing out the lipsticks for a couple weeks I’m actually surprised with how often I’ve worn this lipstick. I think the formula is amazing! It’s such a comfortable matte lipstick. I think it’s really similar to the Colourpop Matte X formula though.
The colour is such a gorgeous bold pink shade. It actually was super wearable and I feel like it went with a lot of different looks that I did this month. I’ll definitely be picking up more shades in the future. I’m obsessed with how Freckle Fiesta looks and I know I need it in my life.
Overall I think it was a great box to try out a bunch of new formulas. They are all mostly products that I’ve been wanting to try since I saw them release so I’m glad I was able to do that in a fairly affordable way. I don’t think the colours overall were my favourite but I think I can find a way to work with all of them.
