Every other week I try out 5 products and use them every single day for a week. This helps to give me a better understanding of exactly how I feel about the products. It sometimes forces me to use products that I rarely reach for or ones that I might have forgotten about.
I’m super excited that I’ve started to bring back my Makeup Bag Monday series. Spreading these posts out is working out great for me so far!
I’m really happy with all of the products that I picked out this week and I think they really brought me out of my comfort zone. It had me use some products that have just been sitting around collecting dust in my collection lately.

This is one of my favourite full coverage foundations. I used to wear it all the time but in the last couple months I’ve really neglected it. I wanted to try it out this week to see if my thoughts on it are still the same. Well I still love this foundation after trying it out this past week.
This is the perfect colour for me in the winter months. I find that the Revlon foundations have really good undertones for lighter skin tones. I sometimes have trouble because the undertones can be too pink or too orange/yellow but these are the perfect mixture that they look natural on my skin.
It wears really well throughout the day. I usually have to set it with powder because it can feel a little bit tacky if I don’t. After setting it all the powders that I apply on my cheeks blend really well.
I have realized that this foundation is impossible to find online. I know I’ve been able to find it recently at both Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart so I’m not sure if it’s discontinued or just impossible to find online. If you know anything about that please let me know in the comments below!
When this first released I lusted over it so so much. But after thinking about it I didn’t see the point of getting an eyeshadow palette with such a small amount of shades. I usually never use eyeshadow quads or anything like that because I feel like you always end up with the same look whenever you use it. Well it went on sale a while ago and I just couldn’t stop myself from purchasing it. But no surprise I haven’t actually used it since I bought it. So I thought I would force myself to use it and see if I could get a few different looks with this palette.
After using it I hate the white shade. It’s not completely metallic but not matte and it’s not super pigmented either. I think it just looks like a sheer white with weird glitter particles. The other three shades are really gorgeous and super pigmented. They are a little difficult to blend in so I would recommend taking your time blending them if you have this palette. I mostly liked using the pink shade in the larger pan as a crease colour and applying the L’oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush that I included in my Project Pan for 2018. Those two shades worked so well together!
In my opinion though if I can just barely use three out of four shades of this quad I probably won’t reach for it much and I should probably pass it off to someone who actually might get some use out of it.
I’m always so torn when it comes to this powder duo. Some days I love it and I hate it other days and there’s no explanation as to why I feel that way. I can’t figure out exactly what it is about this. I was hoping that using it this week I could see if I could figure out why I have such mixed feelings. But I still felt this way even though I was using the same foundation every single day. The matte powder also can make my concealer crease and look horrible on my under eyes some days. I really don’t know what to do with this powder duo but I think it might be time to get rid of it. If I can’t guarantee that I’ll like how this looks on my skin why am I keeping it in my collection?
I’ve been super into trying more luxury lipsticks lately so I was excited to get this lipstick as a point perk from Sephora. I’ve really wanted to figure out if some of them are worth the hefty price tags that they come with.
I adore the colour of this so I’m thinking it’s something I’ll get a lot of use out of. The formula was really nice as well. It’s pretty pigmented and comfortable on the lips. It also lasted fairly well throughout my lunch but didn’t last throughout dinner for me most days. But most lipstick doesn’t make it that far into the day so I’m not completely surprised.
Is it worth the price tag though? I don’t necessarily think so. I’ve tried a lot of more affordable lipsticks that work the same if not a little bit better. But I think it’s a nice splurge item and I would maybe purchase some more of these in the future.
Lately I’ve been more into wearing blush. I’m beginning to realize that’s more of a trend for me in the winter months. This has such a huge selection of blush that you can almost get any colour you could want out of it. I even found some of the shades worked really well as a highlighter so it’s almost a two in one palette for that. I don’t know if all of the shades are extremely wearable for everyday but I could probably find a look to wear each of them with if I tried. The formula blends well on the cheeks and lasts well throughout the day. It doesn’t even looked like I used any product after wearing them for a little over a week everyday so I know this palette will last me a million years.
