Going into the new year I’m completely overwhelmed by my makeup collection. I’ve always been a little overwhelmed by it. With moving at the end of last year it really hit me as to just how much I have and how much product I rarely use. I’d like to make more of an effort in using up products and keep track of just how much I’m able to use up this year.
As a way to kind of get the ball rolling I decided to pick out 18 products that I would like to focus on panning/using up in 2018. I think this is a bit of a hefty goal but I might as well at least give it a try.

A lot of the products I picked out are ones that I’ve had in my collection for quite some time, it’s getting to the point that if I don’t use them up by the end of the year than I probably should just get rid of them. I also picked out a few that are a little pricey that I think I should get more use out of.
I’d like to post an update on my usage of these products every three months. That gives me enough time between posts that I really think I can make some great progress.
I know 100% that I won’t use up this whole eyeshadow palette. But I’ve had this in my collection and I really don’t use it very often. I love the colours and it really is such a versatile palette so I would love to get more use out of it. I would like to pan at least a couple shades to make me feel like I was successful on attempting to use up this palette.
I really love using this primer but I don’t know if it does much in helping to prime or prolong my makeup. I’ve already finished a full sized and travel size of this so this is all that I have left to really clear it out of my collection. I’m hoping I can use this up fairly early in the year because it’s definitely more effective for me to use in the winter compared to in the summer since I’m always oily and hydrated in the summer months.
This is one of my all time favourite Colourpop shadows. I’d really like to try and focus on using this up since I’m afraid it’s going to dry out soon. I know it’s one of the first Colourpop shadows that I purchased from the company. I already have a backup of this and this one has a ton of glitter that’s just kind of mixed into over time so it’s time to use it up and move it out of my collection.
This used to be one of my all time favourite foundations but lately I just never use it. This is one of the products that I think will have expired by the end of the year so I’d really like to try to put a good dent into it over 2018.
This is the powder that never ends! I swear I hit pan on this a million years ago and it looks like I’ve barely used any of it up since then. It’s a really great powder but I would like to be done with it this year. I have a few other pressed powder products so it’s time I at least get one of them out of my collection and this is the only one that I think is manageable to do that.
I swear this is one of the most expensive powder products that I own. I’d like to try to get my money’s worth out of it! I love this bronzer so much so I don’t think it will be difficult to try to focus on using it up.
I used this so much when I first purchased it and then it went into a drawer and I haven’t used it at all in months. I have a lot of foundations that I don’t use because they aren’t the best colour for me so I’m hoping I can get some more use out of them by focusing on this!
This has been in my collection for the longest time. I’m really afraid it’s going to expire at some point this year so I’d like to get it all used up. It’s a really great primer and is fairly expensive so it would be worth it to use it up.
This is probably one of the more expensive eyeliners that I currently own. It’s amazing but I would like to try and get my money’s worth out of this product. I don’t always wear eyeliner so I thought that going with a brown shade could mean that I would wear it a little more often!
The Maybelline Fit Me Concealers used to be my ride or die concealers. After I used them up a while ago though I didn’t open up the back up that I had of fair because I wanted to try to use up some other concealers. I recently decided that it was time to open it and now I’d like to try to use it up. I don’t love it nearly as much as some other concealers I have in my collection so I know if I don’t include it in this project pan I probably won’t end up finishing it again.
Watt’s Up used to be my ride or die highlighter but I fell out of love with it about as quickly as I fell into love with it. I recently used it for a makeup bag monday post and I realized that I need to get more use out of it. I thought this project would be a great way to do that. This also seems like a never ending product because I feel like I’ve used so much of it but there’s basically a whole stick of it left.
This is the lipstick that really started my addiction. I loved the colour and the formula on this one. I used to wear it all the time but recently I’ve kind of neglected it. Out of all my lipsticks this is one that I think I could actually be successful at using up. This also started getting weird bumps on the top of lipstick. I think it will be time to get rid of this at the end of the year if I’m not successful.
I haven’t purchased an eye primer in what seems like forever but I still have so many! I haven’t been using eye primer as much lately for some reason. I’m hoping this project pan will force me to get more use out of it and clear out some of the eye shadow primers I have.
I always complain about having dry flakey lips but I rarely exfoliate them. I’m hoping that having this product handy more often will get me to use it more so that my lips are a little more soft.
I really don’t think I’ve ever completely used up a brow gel so I’d like to give that a try this year! I feel like brow gels just live on forever. It will be interesting to see if I can make this one disappear. Lately I’ve been using more of a clear brow gel but I would like to get back into using one that has a bit of a tint to it so this will be perfect!
I’m so close to finishing this lip product that I really wanted to make sure I do that this year. This is one product that I somehow managed to use up most of without even trying. I think it will be simple. It’s the perfect glossy shade so it goes with a lot of looks and works on top of a lot of lip colours.
I would like to try to focus more on using up some of my single eyeshadows. Often times those kind of get swept to the side because of all of the palettes that I own. This is the perfect shade to go all over the lid. I’m excited to use it a lot more this year. For some reason I thought it was a lot more orange but it actually has a pink tone to it!
I used to live for this product. I think lately though I’ve favoured pencils because they can be a little quicker. This used to give me a perfect looking brow so I would like to give this product a try more often in 2018. I’m also afraid it’s going to dry up soon. I’d like to try to use up as much of the product as I can before that happens.
