Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation Review

Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation Review

I’ve heard a lot of beauty bloggers talking about the Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour foundation. I still can’t figure out if the formula or just the packaging is what recently changed with this foundation. I don’t own the older one so I don’t have any way of testing them out. But with all the hype around it I figured I would give it a try. I’m obsessed with Maybelline foundations. I don’t think I’ve tried one that I haven’t liked so far – except the original Fit Me foundation which is a little too dewy for me.

There seemed to be a fairly wide shade range when I picked out my colour. I always grab the 120ish foundations. The Classic Ivory shade always seems to have the right undertone for me. After applying this I found it to be a little bit darker than the Fit Me 120 foundation. But it was totally workable with some strategically placed concealer. I did think that this had the perfect undertone for me. Maybelline is usually pretty good at having a warmer undertone in the lighter shades. Lately I’ve only been applying my foundation with a beauty blender. (I keep forgetting my wash mat at my parents house so all of my foundation brushes need a wash!) But I loved how this applied with a beauty sponge. It gave me a medium to full coverage while still looking fairly natural on my skin. It blended into my skin well and didn’t seem to overly accentuate any of my pores. I did find that it settled into some of the lines and wrinkles I have on my face though. I have a lot of lines on my forehead and they seemed to seep right into them. But what was weird is that after a short amount of time the foundation kind of settled down and my forehead lines weren’t nearly as noticeable. At the end of the day the foundation held up fairly well. I wouldn’t say that this was entirely 24 hour though. The main downside to this is that my face looked a little oily in the evening. This seems to be a common issue with most of the beauty bloggers that I follow who have tried out this foundation. It wasn’t something that I completely hated though. Like I didn’t feel like I looked like an oil slick or anything but it looked like I was slightly sweaty around the 8 hour mark. I did have some issues with it wearing off around my nose. But I’ve had a cold that I just can’t get rid of lately so I’ve been blowing my nose quite frequently. I don’t know too many foundations that would hold up well to that.Overall I think I like this just about as much as I love my Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation. This one has fairly similar packaging. It comes with a pump and that kind of gives it a bit of a step up in my opinion. I think this will be a really great foundation for the winter time because it made my skin look more alive and lifelike!
