Ipsy is one of my all time favourite subscription services. I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy long before I even had an idea of how to use a majority of the products that I received. It’s an inexpensive way to try out a bunch of different beauty products on a regular basis. Each month, subscribers receive a Glam Bag with 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. The service costs $10 USD, shipping is free within the US and an additional $4.95 USD to ship to Canada.
This month’s theme was Boss Babe. Basically they wanted to give a vibe of being able to conquer the world while empowering other women. I loved that idea but I have no clue how any of the products I received have anything to do with that. Well except the nail polish shade name – Girl Boss. It’s not really the most girl boss colour though – I would have expected something a little more bold with that name.
I’m pretty obsessed with this month’s bag design. It’s super sleek and would look awesome as a clutch. I’ll definitely try to get some use out of this one in the future!
I’m obsessed with Colourpop so I was beyond excited to get this lipstick included in my bag this month. I don’t usually wear these bright pink type colours but I really like how this one looks! The Matte X formula is really comfortable on the lips while still giving you that classic matte look.
I’m super happy I was able to get a regular face mask this month that wasn’t a one time use/foil package. I’ve never actually heard of this brand so I’m always excited to try something new. I tried it about two times already and I didn’t really find a huge difference in how my skin looked after I removed my mask. Sometimes my skin can react with certain face masks though and this one didn’t cause any irritation so it’s ideal for sensitive skin in my opinion! I’ll definitely keep trying this one out but I don’t know if I would repurchase this in the future.
This was the yummiest smelling face wash I’ve tried in a long time. It smelt like fall goodness! It’s a mild exfoliant so it does have a small amount of exfoliation bead type things in it. But I didn’t really feel the beads do anything as I was washing my face. I’m used to more of an intense exfoliation product so this really doesn’t do anything for me in that sense. It still managed to wash my face well and I didn’t find it too drying on my skin.
I’m really not a fan of the colour of this polish so I’ll probably never wear it. I have a decent amount of purple nail polish shades but I just never really reach for them too often. I’ll probably give this away in the future.
I’ve tried a lot of the Smashbox primers and I never find them to be life changing for my skin. This isn’t the first time I’ve tried this specific version of it. It gives a nice luminosity to the skin but I don’t think it really extends my makeup in anyway. Also I found that if I apply a fuller coverage foundation on top of this it really doesn’t make that much of a difference with how my skin ends up looking.
Overall this was a pretty well rounded bag. I wouldn’t say that this was one of my favourite bags but I’m so happy I was able to get the Colourpop lipstick that anything else in the bag really didn’t matter to me!
Did you get any of these items in your Ipsy bag? Have you tried any of these before? I would love to hear in the comments below!
