I’m back with the second installment of my Makeup Bag Monday series. This definitely has become something that I’m enjoying so far. It’s been fairly easy to keep up with. I’ve also found that it really brings out my true feelings on products. I can usually just get away with trying something out once, not liking it and throwing it into a drawer to forget about. But forcing myself to use it basically everyday for a week makes me know for sure whether or not I’m truly into the product. If I dread using the product then it’s probably time to get it out of my collection.
In my Makeup Bag Monday series I try out 5 products over the course of a week. Each Monday I post my feelings on those 5 products. It’s a great way to get mini reviews of each item.
Morphe x Kathleen Lights – Eyeshadow Palette
I’ve been neglecting this palette so much lately. I just have so many other newer palettes that I tend to just leave this in my palette drawer and forget I even own it. Which is so unfortunate because this is a stunning palette. I think it’s super versatile and you can create a ton of different looks with it!
I completely fell back in love with this palette over the course of the week. It’s mostly warm tones but you have a few cool tone shades and some fun pops of colour. I was able to wake up most of the mornings and create something that looked different than what I did the previous day.
I’m going to try to use this more often because it’s just the perfect everyday palette. I wish that they would release this palette again because I think everyone should own it!
I think this is pretty close to being expired at this point. It still has some life left to it and I wanted to try to get some more use out of it. I actually really enjoy this mascara. It gives a good amount of length with a little bit of volume to it.
I would definitely repurchase this mascara. But I currently have tons of unopened mascara tubes in my collection so I should get to using those before I try to repurchase anything.
I’ll probably keep this around in my collection for a couple more weeks and hopefully I’ll have used most of it up by that point.
This was one of the Sephora Birthday gifts for this year. I love most of the Tarte blushes that I own already so I was excited that they were giving out deluxe sample sizes of them this year. I actually hadn’t used it very much before this week. Normally I don’t enjoy wearing blush, I usually just pile on all the bronzer possible. So this was a fun week to try and force myself to wear blush a little more often.
This give my skin a really nice flush to the cheek. I found it wasn’t too pigmented and over the top, which is something that I like in a blush. I could still build it up if I decided to skip bronzer that day and just go heavy on the blush.
If you still can pick up a birthday bonus then I definitely recommend this one! You can also just purchase it on it’s own which I think is really cool.
This used to be one of my holy grail concealers. I used to love how this looked on my under eyes. I would wear it almost every single day after I first purchased it. But I kind of let it fall into the abyss of my makeup drawers and I basically forgot about this. I’m super close to using this up now so I was hoping that after this week I would basically be done it.
After trying this out for a week straight I wasn’t 100% happy with how it performed. I just found that the undertone wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be. It really didn’t cancel a lot of the discolouration that I have under the eyes. This wasn’t as full coverage as I want my concealer to be. It doesn’t crease up a lot on my under eyes though which is probably my favourite part.
I probably won’t repurchase this one because I don’t really think it’s worth it. I love some of the other Maybelline concealers a lot more than I ended up liking this one.
I received this in a past Boxycharm box and never really tried it out much. I’m super picky when it comes to lip glosses and I just kind of thought that I wouldn’t like this without even giving it a try. I’m super on the fence about my feelings with this lip gloss after trying it out for a week. I think it’s a nice colour and it lasted a really long time on the lips. But it’s just too gloopy for my liking. It felt really heavy on my lips and my hair was constantly getting stuck to the gloss. I think I’m going to declutter this out of my collection because I just don’t see myself using it very much in the future. I have a lot of other glosses that I like a million times more than this one.
This was a fairly successful week for me! I’m excited that I was able to use up some of the products that have been sitting in my drawer for the last little while!
