June 2017 Favourites

I’ve been super busy throughout the month of June. I spent most of my days running around or trying to catch up on work that I needed to get done. I was going away in the middle of the month for a week so I wanted to try to get all my work done so that I didn’t have to worry about it on my trip. That meant that most of my days were spent wearing minimal makeup if I was even wearing any at all!

But I managed to really fall in love with a bunch of products this month though and I’m super excited to be able to share them with my readers!

Colourpop – Blotted Lip in Drip

I swear this shade is perfect for an everyday kind of colour. It’s such a wearable pinky red that I just can’t get enough of it. But I’ve been wearing this colour nonstop lately! I usually never wear a red tinted lip product but this one has been perfect for me. I took it one a trip I went this past month and ended up wearing it most of the days that I was gone for. The formula is probably my favourite part of this lippie. It’s a super comfortable sheer matte that’s fairly buildable. You aren’t going to get the same pigmentation out of this as you would a liquid lipstick or even a normal lipstick. But the sheerness of the product makes it super wearable!  It’s not the most long wearing though but I honestly don’t mind reapplying it throughout the day.

Urban Decay – Perversion Mascara

I used to wear this mascara all the time when I first started getting into makeup. I loved the mascara but I just kind of pushed it to the side after wanting to try out more mascara products. Well this month I decided to give this one another shot and I honestly don’t know why I ever stopped using this. I find it gives me the perfect amount of volume and length. It also has one of my all time favourite mascara wands. It really just combs the product so well through my lashes. I’ve actually received a few compliments on my lashes recently when wearing this mascara.

Colourpop – Super Shock Shadow in Paisley

Another Colourpop product? What can I say. I’m obsessed and I juts own so many of their products that I’m bound to fall in love with most of them each month! This has been my go to all over the lid shade when I’ve been wearing more minimal makeup. It’s a super glittery shadow so you will want to be careful when applying. This can sometimes end up all over my face. I love how it’s super sheer and just gives you that little pop with all of the glitter particles. I’ve been wearing this with a little bit of Colourpop Cornelious buffed into the crease and I’m good to go for the day!

The BrowGal – Convertible Brow in 02 Brown Hair

I’ve recently become obsessed with using this. I don’t know what it is about this but I love the look it gives my brows. It can be used dry as a brow powder or wet as a brow pomade. It makes the whole brow process a little bit less of a hassle. I received this in a boxy charm recently and didn’t really think I would get much use out of it but after trying it I can’t stop using it now. I’ve only really used the middle shade but I think that shade is the perfect colour for me. It’s the right undertone for my hair colour and really helps to make my brows look put together.

Fresh – Soy Face Cleanser

I had a sample of this that I took on my trip this month and I really enjoyed using this. I felt like it was a fairly gentle cleanser. It still worked well to remove all of the makeup that I was wearing. The one thing that I thought was weird about this though was that it smelt like deep fried pickles. After realizing what exactly it smelt like I was craving deep fried pickles every time I applied this to my face. Overall though I think I’ll definitely be picking up a full size of this once I run out of the travel size.

L’Occitane – Almond Shower Oil

This is one of my all time favourite body washes. I feel in love with it all over again this month. I’m always a little torn if I want to use a product as pricey as this every time I shower so I stopped using it a bit in the recent months. Again I had a travel size of this so I took it on my trip with me and could not put it down. I don’t know how it does it but I feel so moisturized after I use this product. It also has such a great scent to it. I just think this is such an amazing product and really worth the steep price point it comes with!

That fresh soy cleanser sounds quite nice. It definitely sounds like something my skin would respond well to so I definitely need to check it out.

I’ve really been enjoying it. It’s surprising good at taking off most of my makeup!

  • I got a free sample of the Urban Decay mascara in a beauty box here in Australia recently. It’s possibly the only ever non-drug store mascara I’ve ever wanted to purchase. Isn’t it just fab?!

I feel the exact same way. I usually don’t see the point of paying a lot when it comes to mascara but I will always make the exception with this one!
