Every week I love playing around with new makeup products. My biggest addiction is lipstick products. I have way more products than I could ever need. Recently I’ve decided that I need to try to get out of my comfort zone and wear more products on a regular basis. Keeping a weekly lip diary has been a really fun way to keep track of everything and it holds me accountable for wearing more lip products.
I haven’t posted a week in lipstick for a while because I feel like I’ve had a bit of a boring May for the most part. Most of my days are spent just working. I’ve also been using a lot of lip colours more often so I haven’t really tried to branch out and make the most of my collection.
But this past week I had a jam packed fun week so I really wanted to share it with my readers.

I had a really fun Monday! My boyfriend and I spent the morning and afternoon visiting his family in Windsor. We spent a lot of time just chatting with his family. We were able to spend sometime at the waterfront since the weather was gorgeous! In the evening we crossed the border into Michigan and had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. It’s one of my favourite restaurants and I’m really excited for it to open up in Toronto. I’m going to be eating there all the time! Have you ever been? What’s your favourite kind of cheesecake? Mine is the chocolate chip cookie dough one! After dinner we had a bit of a long drive back home but it was a nice end to the long weekend getaway that we had.
Since we were spending a lot of time with my boyfriend’s family I didn’t want to go too over the top when it came to my makeup. I really like the Nars Lip Glides but they are not at all long lasting. This is something that’s nice for a little bit of moisture and tint to the lips. The colour bound is pretty much identical to my lips so I don’t mind having to apply it a bunch.
I was back to reality on Tuesday and spent the morning at work. After work my best friend and I went out for dinner at our favourite local restaurant. After dinner we went to see the movie Everything, Everything. I really enjoyed the movie and did not expect the end at all! Have you seen it? What were your thoughts on it? After the movies my boyfriend and I planned out a trip we want to take in June. We plan to go to a resort in Northern New York that has a bunch of really fun summer activities!
I wore the Sephora Cream Lip Stain and I honestly wasn’t happy with it. I remember this being such a great longer lasting lip colour but it didn’t wear well for me. I’m not sure if mine has just gone bad because I’ve had it for a little while at this point. I still love the colour so much and think that it looks really great with just about any makeup look. It’s really the perfect mauve shade. I’ll try wearing a few more times but I might throw it out if I don’t like the way it continues to wear throughout the day.
My boyfriend and I went to Wonderland in the afternoon. We really wanted to try to go during the week while school is still going on. I just hate spending a lot of time in line so this was the best way to avoid that. We actually managed to get through all of the rides we wanted in almost 4 hours. It was a little shocking and we were pretty motion sick by the end of the trip! After Wonderland my boyfriend and I spent the evening watching the first episode of the Bachelorette! I’m super excited for this season since I loved Rachel last season. It also looks like it’s going to be a very dramatic season which is always entertaining!
I wanted something super long lasting that I wouldn’t have to worry about throughout the day. I didn’t want to spend a lot of time on my makeup since I knew it was going to be a hot mess after riding a ton of roller coasters. I really have been loving the UD Vice Liquid Lipsticks and I think I want to grab a few more colours. They are super matte but don’t over dry my lips. Most of the time when I wear this I actually forgetting I’m wearing a lipstick. The colour Trivial is great because it’s a natural colour for me but gives my lips a little pop to them.
I had a bit of a boring Thursday. The only thing I really did all day was go to work. I spent a bit of time working on my blog before and after though.
I tried out the Colourpop Mini Multi Stix for the first time today. They are amazing and I think I might be in love with them. The idea of multi stix are so great in my opinion. I’ve been travelling a bit more lately and I think it’s great to have an all in one product. I used the colour Toronto Terrace (This is the main reason I wanted to buy this set. I felt obligated to support something with Toronto in the name!). I’m not a huge fan of the colour for my lips, I felt it really made my teeth look yellow which is a huge bummer. I want to try this as a cheek product though because I think the colour will be a really nice nude blush!
On friday morning my boyfriend and I took the train into the city to go to brunchfest! I love breakfast food so I couldn’t pass up the chance to go to an event that focused on that. I ate a little too much food but it was all super delicious and worth the trip. In the evening I watched a bunch of tv and caught up on some work and blogging that I needed to get done.
With my Friday plans consisting of stuffing my face I wanted a long lasting lipstick. I’ve worn the Wet n Wild liquid lipstick before and I loved it. I do find this specific colour is a little tough to work with. If you try to apply it super opaque right away it ends up looking a little patchy and clumps weird. I love the colour so much though that I’m willing to work with it. I usually end up applying this with a lip liner underneath. It didn’t last perfectly throughout brunchfest though. I was left with only the outline of the lipstick on my lips. I didn’t really expect it to completely since I was eating some pretty greasy foods.
I spent Saturday catching up on photos for my Instagram and some more blog stuff. I’ve been slowly getting out of my Instagram funk so I’ve been more inspired to take photos and post on a more regular basis. In the evening I skyped with my best friend who lives in Ottawa. We’re planning a trip to Vegas at the end of summer/beginning of fall. We wanted to chat about that and spend some time catching up since I don’t get to see her very often.
I had quite the no makeup day so I went for a more moisturizing lip product. I really can’t get enough of these peach lip oils. They are super hydrating and give a nice wash of colour to the lips. I’m definitely planning on purchasing a few more colours!
I had a super busy shift at work. It always gets a little crazy for us close to the end of the month. After work I had dinner with my boyfriend and my parents which was super yummy! After dinner I spent the evening working on my blog. I’m trying to get into a more regular schedule on my blog and I’m doing my best to post twice a week again!
I wore the Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Aries and I honestly hated the colour on me. Which is crazy because I know I loved it when I first go this. I don’t know what was up with it but it just made me look almost sickly for some reason. I want to try it again when I have a bit of a tan going on because it could just be that I’m a little too pale for this colour right now. I love the formula so much though. It’s such a creamy product and it wear so comfortably throughout the day. I have quite a few other shades of this so I highly recommend this formula if you haven’t tried it before!
