Ipsy Review – April 2017

Ipsy Review – April 2017

Ipsy is one of my all time favourite subscription services. I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy long before I even had an idea of how to use a majority of the products that I received. It’s an inexpensive way to try out a bunch of different beauty products on a regular basis. Each month, subscribers receive a Glam Bag with 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. The service costs $10 USD, shipping is free within the US and an additional $4.95 USD to ship to Canada.

This month’s theme was Sideshow. It was supposed to give you vibes of confidence and embracing your true self. I didn’t really get any crazy fun products in my bag so I wasn’t really feeling the Sideshow vibes. I still loved the bag and everything in it. I’m just sometimes a little confused by how the theme represents the products.

I heard a lot of mixed reviews of people’s opinions on the bag this month. I honestly love it since it is fun and unique! This bag is something I would totally want to use on a more regular basis! I want to show it off because it really looks one of a kind. I never want to use the bags when they are boring and basic so I love that they went for something a little more bold this month.

EM Cosmetics – Illustrative Eyeliner Brush Tip

I’m not a huge fan of brush tip eyeliners. I didn’t mind this one but I felt as if I didn’t have a lot of control when applying it. Usually I’m a gel eyeliner kind of girl because that’s just what I feel most comfortable with. The colour was a nice matte black though and it lasted a long time without smudging. If you’re a fan of brush tips than I am sure you will love this product!

touch in SOL – No Poreblem! Primer

I was actually surprised that I enjoyed this. I found that this was fairly hydrating and smoothing without making me look gross and cakey. Sometimes pore primers can be hit or miss but this one has been a pleasant surprise. I don’t know if it made my makeup last longer throughout the day but it did make it go on smoother.

SKIN&CO Roma – Truffle Therapy Face Toner

I think this is my favourite product in this month’s bag. This toner has an amazing scent to it! I find it has been really calming for my skin so far and I haven’t had a breakout yet. I really want to get a full size of this! Since Ulta now ships to Canada I actually can purchase this!

Ciaté London – Mini Bamboo Bronzer in Palm Island

I’m not really wow’ed by this product since I have so many bronzers currently. This is a really nice product though and blends out well. It isn’t super dark or warm so it works great with my skin tone. If I didn’t already own a ton of bronzers I would probably be super into this!

Hikari Cosmetics – Cream Pigment Eyeshadow in Honey Dew

This is the third Hikari cream pigment eyeshadow that I have received in an ipsy bag. I’m starting to get bored of this product lately and I’m hoping I don’t get anymore in future bags. This product has a light pink tint to it. I’m not the biggest fan of pink eyeshadow so I’ll probably end up wearing this as a highlight. This is much more of a highlight colour for my skin tone and preferences.

Ciate, Em Cosmetics, Hikari Cosmetics

Overall this wasn’t a bad bag. I wasn’t super excited when I saw the sneak peek of my bag. But after trying out the products a few times I’m pleasantly surprised with what I recieved. Everything is great quality and something I could definitely get some use out of – except the eyeliner because it’s just not an application method that I am comfortable with. What items did you get in this month’s Ipsy Bag?! I would love if you linked your reviews in the comments so that I could check them out!
