My Week In Lipsticks #7

My Week In Lipsticks #7

Every week I love playing around with new makeup products. My biggest addiction is lipstick products. I have way more products than I could ever need. Recently I’ve decided that I need to try to get out of my comfort zone and wear more products on a regular basis. Keeping a weekly lip diary has been a really fun way to keep track of everything and it holds me accountable for wearing more lip products.

I honestly felt like I didn’t really have a chance to relax this week. Every day was jam packed with work or an event or something fun. I just started a new part time job so I definitely feel as if that’s been taking over lately as I try to figure it all out! I still had a lot of fun this week and wore some of my favourite lip products and a few newer discoveries.

Monday – Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in Pure Peach *

I was suppose to wake up early on Monday to purchase Ed Sheeran concert but I somehow slept through my alarms and woke up way later than I was expecting to. Luckily my plans for the day weren’t really time sensitive. I spent most of the afternoon working on a new part time job I got in my field while also working on some social media content for a non-profit that I’ve been volunteering for. In the evening I watched the Bachelor finale which I was beyond excited for! Everyone keeps saying that this was the worst season ever but are we all forgetting Juan Pablo’s season? Nothing could be worse than that! I was happy with how everything worked out and I hope they can make it.

I had a super minimal makeup day so I opted for a simple gloss. The scent of this is amazing especially since I love all things peach! I like that I can reapply this a bunch throughout the day without having to really look in a mirror and be super specific about it. I’m still trying to decide if I should buy a full size of this in a different shade.

Tuesday – Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Tight Fit

I spent the morning having a couple meetings and appointments. One of my appointments was an eye exam so I went for a minimal makeup day. In the evening I had to work a shorter shift which was rough because of the fact that there was a snow storm going on and no one wanted to go to the mall. After work I had a short workout at the gym. I’ve been feeling very sluggish because I haven’t gone to the gym a lot lately so I knew it was a good idea to a least go for a short while.

I don’t know what’s gotten into me lately but I’ve been wearing lip gloss a lot more than I’ve been wearing any other lip products. I love how great the Colourpop Glosses feel on the lips and how non-sticky they are. This was also so easy to apply a couple times throughout the day. This shade is a great balance between being glittery but not too bold!

Wednesday – Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Rosé *

I spent most of my morning just being busy working on all things social media related. In the evening I had some errands to do for my parents. After that I went to the movies with my best friend. We finally saw the last Oscar movie that was on our list to see, Manchester By The Sea. I felt wildly uncomfortable through most of the movie, mostly because of the subject matter but also due to my personal feelings on the main character (Casey Affleck)

I recently received the Tarte Lip Paint in my March Ipsy bag. I’ve tried a few other Tarte lip products and I always enjoy the formula. I decided to give this a try so that I could review it in my Ipsy blog post. I really enjoyed this colour and felt as if it held up pretty well throughout the day.

Thursday – Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita *

I had an earlier morning shift at work on Thursday. It was a super slow shift and I spent most of the time dealing with customers who were experiencing a lot of problems. In the afternoon I worked a bit on my blog and on social media work for some clients. In the evening my boyfriend and I had a date night. We went to our local Applebee’s for the first time. I’ve tried Applebee’s in the states but never up here in Canada. I love it so much that I’ll be going back for my birthday dinner! After dinner my boyfriend and I spent the evening watching my 600lbs life. It’s one of my recent TV addictions.

I forgot to put on a lipstick in the morning before work but I decided to wear Lolita for dinner. I used to love this shade but I hadn’t worn it too much recently. Before I was even halfway through dinner I had wiped all of the lipstick off with a slight touch of my napkin. I remember the formula being a lot more long lasting so I don’t know if my memory is just not the best or if some of the liquid lipsticks I’ve been using lately are just better at lasting.

Friday – Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in 42 * and Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Cherry My Cherie *

I had a longer and slower shift on Friday morning. Again I felt as if I spent all of my time with customers who were angry or having problems which made the time move extremely slow. I spent the evening with one of my best friends. We went into Toronto to see The Book of Mormon. But before that we went out for dinner at one of our favourite local restaurants and had ice cream for dessert in downtown Toronto at Sweet Jesus.

I originally wore the Rimmel lipstick, which I haven’t worn in quite some time. But I found that halfway through the day it looked horrible. It was wearing off in such a bad way and there was a weird white line along the inside of my lips. I’ll try it out one more time soon to see if it does the same thing and it will be going straight in the trash if that’s the case. I ended up wearing the YSL lip oil because it’s always in my jacket pocket and it was way more nourishing and looked better than the Rimmel lipstick.

Saturday – Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Leo *

Saturday was probably one of the more relaxing mornings I had. I spent most of the morning catching up on some tv shows, Big Brother Canada and Are You The One. I’m addicted to Big Brother and I’m liking how the season is shaping up so far, even though I’m slightly disappointed they brought back returning players. In the afternoon and evening I spent a lot of time trying to pull together some blog content as well as getting some social media work done on my clients.

I really haven’t been using a lot of the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks lately. So I decided today would be a good day to wear one. These have a really good lasting power and aren’t as drying as some other long lasting liquid lipsticks. I love the colour of Leo, it honestly goes with just about any makeup look you wear.

Sunday – Bite Beauty Multistick in Papaya *

I had an early morning shift at work and had to do a cycle count which was a bummer. But I was excited because a few of my friends decided to have a movie night in the evening. We saw Beauty and the Beast. We also decided to try out one of the Cineplex VIP theaters. The theater has really comfy seats and you can order a whole meal to your seat.

I ended up trying a sample that I had of the Bite Beauty lip product. I was definitely in love with the colour. It is such a nice wearable red shade. I’m still not sold on the formula since it wasn’t completely matte and it wasn’t super creamy. I’ll have to try it out with either a balm before or really exfoliating my lips before I apply it.

I’m really happy with the overall products that I wore. I was happy that I was able to get some use out of some items that I’ve been neglecting lately. What was your favourite lip product from the past week? I would love to know in the comments below!

I absolutely adore the tint in oil 🙂 It seems like there is no pigment but then it transforms to a great tint on my lips 🙂

I totally agree! The tint in oil has easily become one of those great products that I wear a ton! xo

  • This is a really cool idea for a post! I’ve been watching the Bachelor US here in Australia as well in between our season and I actually enjoy it a bit more than ours to be honest.

I love my Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks but they are hit and miss with longevity!

I have to try out all of my Kat Von D lipsticks again because I really want to figure out if the ones I have are long lasting! xo
