Ipsy Review – November 2016

Ipsy Review – November 2016

Ipsy is one of my favourite monthly subscription services. Each month Ipsy sends you 5 different deluxe or full-sized products and a makeup bag. The service costs $10 USD, shipping is free within the US and an additional $4.95 USD to ship to Canada.

This month I received a lot of great products and I think I will get some use out of all of the items!

The bag this month is super cute! I don’t know what changed at Ipsy but they have completely stepped it up in the makeup bag department. I used to just give away or throw out the bags, but I haven’t wanted to do that throughout the last few months.

Not Your Mother’s – She’s A Tease Volumizing Hairspray

I’m not the biggest fan of hairspray. I have hair that tangles super easily and does whatever it wants regardless of the amount of hairspray or gel I use. I’ve really enjoyed the Not Your Mother’s products that I’ve tried in the past. I’ve given their texturizing sea salt spray holy grail status. I might give this a try a couple times or give it to a friend that I know will enjoy it.

FORMULA X – Nail Polish in Huntress

I’ve received a few Formula X nail polish shades from Ipsy in the past. They have a great formula and last for a decent amount of time. This looks like a great colour for the upcoming winter months. I know this is something that I’ll get some use out of! A girl can never have too much nail polish – this is coming from the girl who no longer can store all of her nail polish and should be going through a serious declutter asap!

SLMissGlam – W20 Angled Eye Brush

Another thing that a girl can never have too many of is makeup brushes. I have an unhealthy amount of makeup brushes. It’s at the point where I’m planning to donate a bunch of them to one of my friends because I know she will actually use the ones that I’ve been neglecting. I’m not a huge fan of angled eye brushes but I find they are great for blending together a smokey look with Colourpop matte shadows. I’ll be getting some use out of this brush for sure!

Too Faced – Better Than Sex Mascara

This is one of my favourite mascara brands. It gives the perfect amount of volume and length. I’m just not a fan of the price tag. I just can’t justify spending a decent chunk of money on something that I know will expire before I get around to using it all. I’ve been lucky enough to receive a decent amount of these from subscription boxes though. I shouldn’t have to buy one for myself anytime soon.

tarte cosmetics – maracuja oil

Lately I’ve been a huge fan of mixing oil into my beauty and skincare routine. I think it’s especially important to take care of your skin and using an oil is a great way to do that. I don’t recommend replacing your moisturizer with an oil though. It’s good to use both of those products together. I already have a sample of this product and so far it’s been great. I find it gives me the right amount of glow without making me look shiny. I’ve been mixing it in with some of my heavy matte foundations. I found that has helped to avoid any of the cakeyness that can sometimes come with those foundations.

Have you tried any of these products? Are any of these some of your favourite products? What did you receive in your Ipsy bag? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
