I enjoyed keeping track of my lipstick last week so I decided to try that out again this week. It’s been a great way to try out more lipstick colours that I tend to neglect on a regular basis. I worked quite a bit this week and had a lot of errands and plans with friends, but I still made time everyday to put a minimal amount of makeup on and play around with lipstick.
Sunday: Bite Beauty Lip Crayon in Rhubarb
I recently purchased this lip product in a duo set from Sephora. It’s a nice purple rose colour and has a satin finish to it. I went to a makeup warehouse sale with my mom and had a meeting for work, so I thought this would be a great comfortable colour to wear throughout the day. I applied this onto my lips and blended it out until it was more of a stain on my lips, I loved how that turned out!
Monday: Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
I had a longer shift at work today so I opted for a tinted balm. I haven’t used these in quite sometime and I forgot how light and glossy these can be. I’ll definitely have to wear these more often when I’m looking for something for my minimal makeup days.
Tuesday: Colourpop Lippie Stix, Sheer Finish in Kiddo
I originally purchased a few of the sheer Lippie Stixs when they first launched and I wasn’t a huge fan of them. Which is crazy because I love everything Colourpop. But a few months ago I purchased the Gone Coastal set which features all of the reformulated sheer Lippie Stixs. The new formula is amazing – it’s comfortable and hydrating on the lips. I went to the gym, had lunch with a friend and then went into work today so I wanted something that would have nice wash of colour and easy to apply throughout the day!
Wednesday: Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips in Chilly Chili
I had a fairly lazy morning but I went out for dinner with a few friends and helped my mom with a fundraiser in the evening. I spent part of my morning playing around with makeup and ended up with a fairly bold eye look. I decided to go big and try Chilly Chili for the first time. It’s a fairly bold plum brown that I purchased during the end of summer last call colourpop sale. I love it, this is such a perfect colour for the upcoming fall season.
Thursday: YSL Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Peach Me Love 6
I haven’t worn the Colourpop Ultra Mattes very often lately and I forgot how drying they can be on the lips. So I decided it would be best to wear this lip oil today because my lips needed a little time to recover. It’s a sheer wash of colour. This is extremely hydrating and I love wearing it on days that my lips are feeling a little extra chapped. I spent the day helping out around the house and then I had a shorter shift at work so this product went perfectly with my day.
Friday: Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Mystic
I was having a horrible skin day today so I was trying to avoid wearing a lot of heavy makeup. Today was spent working on a few blog posts and applying for a few jobs. I also decided to go to the gym in evening for a Zumba class – this was the first time I’ve tried that class! I’ve been enjoying the formula of the Nudestix Pencils lately and this is a great mauve tone.
Saturday Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte in Touch of Spice:
I had a fun filled day planned in the city catching up with one of my best friends from University. I woke up fairly early and had a longer train ride into the city so I did majority of my makeup on the train ride. I decided to go with a Maybelline Matte lipstick because I figured it would be comfortable and fairly long lasting. This was my go to colour a couple years ago and I’ve been neglecting it recently. I honestly forgot how drying and crumbly this formula could be though. It’s such a beautiful colour but truly could not last longer than 5 hours before it felt weird on my lips and I had to just take it all off.
I had a really fun week with lipstick and I enjoyed forcing myself to wear a few more products that normally wouldn’t end up wearing.
What was your favourite lip colour from this past week? Have you tried any of these lip products out?
