June was a month of discovering a lot of new products, as well as rediscovering products that I haven’t used in a while. I tried to cut down the amount of products I used on a regular basis. Commuting into the city for early classes means that I want to make my mornings as quick and simple as possible.
My five monthly favourites for June were the staple products that I used on a regular basis. My favourite products were Jeffree Star’s liquid lipstick in Gemini, Physicians Formula’s Butter Bronzer, Covergirl’s Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation, Colourpop’s Highlighter in Lunch Money and the Ole Henriksen Truth Facial Water.
Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick – Gemini
I splurged this month and purchased three new Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks (Gemini, Rose Matters and Mannequin). Gemini quickly became my go-to lip colour for the month. If you’ve never tried the formula of this liquid lipstick it’s one of the most comfortable matte liquid lipsticks that I’ve ever tried. You almost forget that you are even wearing lipstick. The colour is the perfect warm-toned terracotta – it looks great on everyone that I’ve seen wear it!
Physicians Formula – Butter Bronzer
I think I’m in love with this product because of it’s scent – which might sound extremely odd for a bronzer. This bronzer smells exactly like you want your summer to smell like – like a delicious pina colada. This bronzer blends perfectly into your skin. It gives you a great summer glow without making you look like an orange cheeto. The colour selection isn’t the greatest but I’m sure you would love this product if you have a fair to medium skin tone.
Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation
I never understand why I choose to use other foundations. This one gives my skin the perfect glow without making my skin look oily and sweaty. I have normal to combo skin with a bit of an oily t-zone so finding a luminous foundation can be a little tough sometimes. This foundation wears really well throughout the day and never breaks up or looks cakey on my skin. This also has a great yellow undertone for me which sometimes can be difficult to find in lighter shades at the drugstore. If you haven’t tried this foundation out yet than I highly recommend giving it a shot!
Colourpop Highlighter – Lunch Money
Colourpop highlighters are definitely an underrated product. I find these products are the perfect cream highlight without slipping and sliding all over your skin. It gives a great glow to the skin and holds up fairly well throughout the day. This is also a great product to layer underneath your favourite powder highlighter to give you that glow that you can see in outer space. Your highlight will definitely be ‘on fleek’ if you use this product!
Ole Henriksen – Truth Facial Water
I’m always a little skeptical about facial water type products. I decided to give this one a chance because I loved the light citrus scent and I wanted to try a skin care product that wouldn’t be too heavy in the summer. I used this twice daily and would spray it on my face before putting on my moisturizer in the morning and night. To my surprise, I actually saw an improvement in my skin tone after just over two weeks of using this! I have a lot of redness on my cheeks and I definitely feel as if this helped to calm that down. Ole Henriksen has a couple of other facial water products, I definitely recommend finding the best one for your skin tone.
Have you tried out any of these products? Were they a favourite for you as well? I would love to know what products you were loving this past month!
